Transatlantic Chilean Folk Ensemble

The Transatlantic Chilean Folk Ensemble is an international ongoing project, whose main objective is to create and perform music of Chilean (and other participating countries) inspiration, through an Orchestra formed by all kinds of acoustic instruments, from the classical and folk tradition. Their european crew will land in Umefolk with 18 young musicians coming from Sweden, Denmark, Scotland, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia and, of course, Chile!

Conducted by his founder Ernesto Calderón, this folk orchestra will play its original repertoire, written by members of the Ensemble, including styles as diverse as the andean Huayno, the creole Cueca, the huachaca Jazz, and even the rhythms of african descent, generating a lively atmosphere where everyone is invited to participate, either dancing or singing.
